The last few years have been rough on our local environment – with the bushfires of 2019/20 and now the recent flooding – our wildlife and flora has taken a huge hit.
Building on an illustration I drew in response to the bushfires last year (https://camillemanley.com.au/australia-burns), this mural predominantly focuses on the positive – the regeneration that has begun in local fire affected areas. It will serve as a reminder to the audience of how beautiful yet fragile our home is, combining the strength of mother nature to fight back against human induced climate change, with subtle juxtaposed orange ‘hazards’, representing the ever-present danger that will continue to threaten unless we change our behaviours.
